Just a few days ago, 10/12/13, a story about WIRES appeared in a local Sydney paper, the Hills Advocate.
It demonstrates just how unprofessional and ineffective WIRES really is.
The article that appeared in print in The Daily Telegraph the next day went even further.
The article which appears online at the Hills Advocate says:
"WIRES were called and liaised with RSL staff but as the reptile did not require a rescue a professional was called in to move it on."
WIRES denied that this animal was in need of rescue? It was in the middle of an RSL Club's foyer - it may have scared a member of the public and been injured in turn. This is precisely a situation in which an animal needs rescue. It needed "a professional" to do the rescue because WIRES is not professional.

The article the next day published in print in The Daily Telegraph added some additional information. According to witnesses, WIRES did not have anyone to go to the rescue of this animal, or at least had no one competant to do it.
What a disgrace! But a timely reminder that WIRES is useless and only good at saving donations not saving lives.
Lest We Forgot.
